Preventive maintenance
Preventive maintenance enhances the availability and extends the life of your machines, and helps to reduce the number of sudden failures. EMRI is well-equipped to take care of all your maintenance work.The intervals and exact data of these maintenance activities are planned in consultation with you.Maintenance work and measurements are carried out on the basis of a protocol, with all measurement results and data of the motors and generators being recorded in clearly structured inspection and test reports.This ensures that trends in the measured data can be identified. On the basis of this it is possible to make predictions about the required maintenance activities.Measurements and analyses that EMRI can perform for you include:
1. Preparatory activities
- Reporting arrival to the client
- Securing the installation according to NEN-EN 50110; 1998 and NEN 3140.
2. Overall inspection of generator
- Check of the lubrication of the bearings;
- Visual inspection of the connections and wiring;
- Retightening of the connections if necessary;
- Inspection of mechanical condition of droop transformers/choking coils;
- Inspection of the clutch;
- Determination of the degree of contamination.
3. Performing measurements to the generator
- Insulation resistance (Megger test) stator windings;
- Insulation resistance (Megger test) stator auxiliary windings;
- Insulation resistance (Megger test) rotor windings;
- Insulation resistance (Megger test) exciter field;
- Insulation resistance (Megger test) exciter rotor;
- Circuit-testing of varistor;
- Circuit-testing of standstill heating;
- Measurement of the polarisation index / corona effect;
- Check of the excitation value of the generator;
- Bearing condition measurement non-drive side;
- Bearing condition measurement drive side;
- Vibration analysis (at zero-load and, if possible, under load);
- Test run under load without interruption;
- Test run under load, with simulated grid breakdown if applicable.
4. Other work
- Small repairs;
- Recording of parameters for measurement reports;
- Removal of old materials;
- Reporting ‘job finished’ to the clientThe results of the measurements listed above are recorded by us and reported. (Sample report: follows).In consultation with the customer, EMRI always chooses the most efficient maintenance method. For instance;
